Abraham decisions Stieglitz to regain WBO title

Arthur Abraham (38-4) won back the WBO super middleweight after claiming a split decision victory over Robert Stieglitz (46-4) in Magdeburg.
The German lost the title by TKO to his compatriot in March 2013, but he exacted revenge in their third bout to regain the title as two judges scored it 114-111 and 115-110 in his favour with the third awarding it 113-112 to Stieglitz.
Although the defending champion pushed forward early on with plenty of jabs, Abraham played it safe and started counterattacking. He had Stieglitz down on his knee in the final round, but couldn't deliver the knockout blow.
"That was a real battle," said Abraham.
"Respect to Stieglitz, respect to my coach. We really saw a good fight. Of course I see myself as the winner. I won through my hard punches."
