Alvarez-Trout face off
WBC light middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez is confident he will beat WBA holder Austin "No Doubt" Trout and unify the division on April 20 in San Antonio, Texas.
The two came face to face to kick off their 3-city Texas press tour ahead of the unification fight.
The undefeated Mexican (41-0-1) will be making his sixth defence of his WBC strap against Trout (26-0) who beat Miguel Cotto in his last fight in December.
"Austin Trout impressed me with his win but it's my time now, and I will show Trout why I am the best in the division. Champions should fight each other because that's what true champions do. I know he will be a tough challenge but I'm confident I will be the unified champion at the end of the night," he said.
American Trout will be looking to go 2 for 2 when he faces the WBC holder having already beaten Canelo's brother Rigoberto Alverez by unanimous decision in February 2011. "I have already defeated his brother and taken his belt and I plan on making it two for two against the Alvarez's in my quest to be the best. I have no doubt I can retain my title and take his with me," he said.
