Assault claims against Amir Khan dropped

Allegations of assault made against Bolton's former world champion Amir Khan have been withdrawn, police have confirmed.
The former world champion was arrested and questioned after allegedly attacking two 19 year old males in the early hours of Friday morning. Officers were called shortly before 1.30am to Russell Street in Heaton after reports of an assault.
He was bailed, pending further enquiries, but on Monday police confirmed that allegations have been dropped and they will not be pursuing the matter further.
A statement issued by Khan's team reads:

"This was a minor incident involving a misunderstanding between Amir Khan and two other youths.
"On Monday 7th July Amir was notified by the police that the allegations against him had been withdrawn and the matter would not be pursued any further."
