Germany's Juergen Braehmer (47-2, 35 KOs) stopped countryman Konni Konrad (22-2, 11 KOs) to retain his WBA light heavyweight title on Saturday night at the EnergieVerbund Arena in Dresden Germany.
Braehmer dominated the outgunned challenger throughout, flooring him in the sixth before Konrad quit with an eye problem at the end of the seventh.
"I wanted to show there was a big difference between Konni and me," Braehmer said of his former sparring partner. "I wanted to show the best of myself."
Braehmer made his fifth successful defence of the WBA “regular” title. He won the vacant belt by outpointing Marcus Oliveira in December 2013.
