Brook blasts out Bizier to retain IBF title
IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (36-0, 25 KOs) easily halted mandatory challenger Kevin Bizier (25-3, 17 KOs) in two rounds on Saturday night in front of his home fans at the Sheffield Arena.
Brook was making the third defence of the IBF title he won when outpointing American Shawn Porter in August 2014.
The unbeaten champion took charge with his jab in the first round and Bizier's nose was bloodied in the second before a series of hard shots sent the Canadian challenger to the canvas.
Bizier bravely got to his feet and marched forward but Brook unleashed a combination that floored his overmatched opponent again and the referee stopped the one-sided affair at 2:15 of the round.
"I want the big fights now," said Brook. "I love that green (WBC) belt. I would love the Danny Garcia fight. Timothy Bradley, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, any of them are exciting fights. Let's unify the division."
