Chavez Jr back on June 22 possibly against Macklin or Vera
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says his fighter former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will be back in the ring on June 22 against either Matthew Macklin or Brian Vera in Texas.
Chavez Jr (46-1-1) is still serving out his suspension for failing the post fight drug test following his world title fight against Sergio Matinez in September, which was a points defeat, testing positive for Marijuana.
Former European middleweight champion Macklin (29-4) stopped Joachim Alcine in a round in his last fight after losing a close split decision against Felix Sturm in Germany for the WBA strap in June 2011 and was stopped after 11 rounds by Martinez, who most consider the best fighter at 160 lbs.
American Vera (22-6) defeated Sergio Mora on points and stopped Serhiy Dzinziruk in 10 in his last outings.
It is unlikely Chavez Jr will weigh in this fight a middleweight with him gaining alot of weight since his last fight.
