Fury says fight still on after suffering cut in sparring

Tyson Fury (21-0, 15 KO’s) has suffered a cut over his left eye during a sparring session with former heavyweight world title challenger Eddie Chambers on Friday ahead of his fight with American Joey Abell (29-7, 28 KO’s) at the Copper Box Arena in London next Saturday.

But the unbeaten British heavyweight insist he will still take the fight with Abell regardless of being cut and could not resist having a dig at the man he was twice set to fight in David Haye. Fury commented on Twitter: “Look I got a cut in sparring yesterday. Should I do a Hayemaker and pull out of my next fight? Lol p***y. I’m still fighting.”

Fury will have his first fight in ten months against Abell, and if he emerges victorious as expected, he is set to have a big stadium rematch with Dereck Chisora in the summer. However, how will plans be affected if Fury’s cut re-opens next Saturday?
