British super middleweight George Groves has suffered a minor head injury in a boating accident during his training camp with the Royal Marines ahead of his world title fight against WBC champion Badou Jack.

Groves was at Plymouth Sound when the incident occurred on Monday afternoon and the Londoner was taken to hospital for treatment before being released.

Groves is preparing for his third world title fight and has won his last two fights against Christopher Rebrasse and Dennis Douglin following back-to-back stoppage defeats to countryman Carl Froch in his previous world title attempts.

The injury will not affect his clash against Sweden's Jack, which is scheduled to take place in the United States in late August or early September.
