Unbeaten three-time world champion Roman Gonzalez (41-0, 35 KOs) stopped Filipino challenger Rocky Fuentes (35-8-2, 21 KOs) in the first defence of his WBC flyweight title on Saturday in Yokohama, Japan.

Nicaraguan Gonzalez sent Fuentes to the canvas with a combination in the sixth round and the referee stopped the bout at 2:11 of the round.

Gonzalez captured the title with a ninth-round TKO of Akira Yaegashi in September.

Also, Japan's Takashi Miura (28-2-2, 21 KOs) stopped Mexican challenger Edgar Puerta (23-5-1, 19 KOs) to retain his WBC super featherweight title.

Southpaw Miura dominated from the start,  dropping Puerta in the opener and kept punishing his opponent before finally halting him with the referee’s intervention at 2:15 of the sixth round.
