Groves signs for Sauerland
George Groves (19-1, 15 KO's) has signed a long-term promotional deal with Sauerland ahead of the rematch with Carl Froch.
The 26 year-old super middleweight star has put pen to paper and signed a long-term promotional contract with Europe’s leading boxing promoter less than two weeks ahead of his Wembley Stadium mega-fight with Carl Froch for the WBA and IBF World Super Middleweight titles.
"I am extremely pleased to have signed with Team Sauerland. I have boxed on their shows in the past and have known Kalle and Nisse (Sauerland) for years. The shows they put on in Europe are phenomenal."
"This is definitely a step in the right direction for me as I look to build my name not only across Europe but all around the world.
"I feel that now I have the right team in place to help me achieve everything I need to in boxing.''
Groves, who has of course split from Adam Booth as his manager as well as trainer and also had a short-term deal with Matchroom Sport that ended last year.
He will now be part of a team that includes fellow super-middleweight Mikkel Kessler and British heavyweight David Price.
"We are proud to have won the race for George's signature and look forward to guiding one of the most exciting talents on the planet," said Kalle Sauerland.
