Hopkins-Kovalev set for November 8

IBF/WBA light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins (55-6-2, 32 KOs) will fight WBO titlist Sergey Kovalev (25-0-1, 23 KOs) on November 8 at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
Hopkins is boxing's oldest world champion, but he must overcome the formidable challenge of knockout artist Kovalev if he is to reign as world champion at the remarkable age of 50.
This is an intriguing match-up, pitting Kovalev, a straight ahead slugger with crushing power against the American's guile, experience, defence and chin.
Hopkins’ career was thought to be over after he was beaten by Chad Dawson on points in 2012. But Hopkins came back to claim the IBF 175 lb title when he defeated Tavoris Cloud by a 12 round decision and most recently outpointed Beibut Shumenov, a puncher who is 18 years his junior, to add the WBA belt.
Kovalev won his title with a brutal destruction of Nathan Cleverly inside four rounds last year and the Russian made his third successful defence, knocking out Blake Caparello in the second round earlier this month.
