American John Molina Jr failed to make weight for his light welterweight world title challenge against WBO/WBC champion Terence Crawford on Saturday night at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska, which is Crawford's hometown.

Molina weighed in four pounds over the 140-pound limit. He was given two hours to lose the excess pounds, but came in at 143.4 when he returned to the scales.

The fight is still on, but Molina cannot win the belts.

If Crawford, who weighed in at 139.6 pounds, loses the fight, the belts will be vacated.
