Kell Brook vs Devon Alexander on for May 18
Kell Brook will challenge American Devon Alexander for his IBF welterweight title at Boardwalk Hall, Atlantic City in New Jersey on May 18.
The fight was initially pushed back from January 19 to February 23 before being postponed again after Alexander suffered a biceps injury.
Brook, 26, who injured his foot in December to force the initial postponement, has a unblemised record of 29 wins from 29 fights with 19 KO's.
Alexander, also 26, has won 24 of his 25 bouts with 13 KO's and is a two-weight world champion.
Also on the Alexander-Brook bill Lamont Peterson (31-1-1) defends his IBF light welterweight title against Argentine puncher Lucas Martin Matthysse (33-2-0-1).
Peterson tested positive for banned synthetic testosterone prior to his rematch with Amir Khan in May 2012, Peterson has said he took the substance as a valid treatment for a medical condition, though he did not notify the Nevada Athletic Commision. He has since stopped Kendall Holt in 8 rounds to retain his IBF 140 pound title in February.
Matthysse has 31 KO's on his record, stopping his last five opponents since losing on points to Alexander over 10 rounds in June 2011.
