Kid Galahad will challenge Spaniard Sergio Prado for the vacant European super- bantamweight title in Sheffield on March 22.

Galahad, real name Barry Awad, won the vacant British title against Jazza Dickens last year but quickly relinquished the strap in favour international opposition.

The 23-year-old has some momentum behind him with four successive stoppage wins and has a career record of 15-0.

"The European title is just another stepping stone," he said. "It's a good title to have but it's just another step - Naseem Hamed had that same title, Carl Frampton had it, Rendall Munroe had it - all quality fighters have held that belt."

Prado holds the less-regarded EU belt but has resurrected his career after three straight losses to compile a 9-3-1 slate.

"I've seen one or two clips of Prado and he looks like a decent kid, he can come forward, he's strong, he can box and he's there to win," Galahad said.

"But, it really doesn't matter who it is - you can't take anybody lightly, you've got to train like it's your last fight and that's how champions are made."
