Pacquiao vs Alvarado possible for October in Macao
Top Rank stable fighter Mike Alvarado (34-1) is being lined up as a strong candidate for Manny Pacquiao's next fight in October in Macao, China.
Alvarado, 33, has reportedly agreed to the fight, but Pacquiao's adviser Michael Koncz is saying that there isn't an opponent that they've agreed on as of yet.
It seems like an odd choice for Pacquiao (54-5-2) because Alvarado doesn't bring a large fan base but does bring the risk of a puncher for someone coming off a bad knockout loss like Pacquiao has when he was knocked out in 6 rounds by Juan Manuel Marquez in December.
Alvarado brings an added element to his game in that he can box and move around the ring quite well, as showed in his recent 12 round decision win over Brandon Rios.
Pacquiao-Alvarado is by no means definate, Timothy Bradley and Marquez are still options, with Marquez missing his own April 15 deadline of announcing his next fight. He's said repeatedly he doesn't want to face Pacquiao again, but with so much money there, they could still be likely to fight.
