Quigg to face new opponent on September 13 after Paulus Ambunda withdraws
Britain's Scott Quigg (28-0-2, 21 KOs) will be defending his WBA super bantamweight title against a new opponent on September 13 at the Phones 4u Arena in Manchester.
Quigg, 25, who is coming off two dominant second round knockout wins against Diego Oscar Silva and Tshifhiwa Munyai respectively, will now seek another opponent for his fourth defence of the 112-pound belt after original challenger Paulus Ambunda suffered a hamstring injury during his training camp and has withdrawn from the fight.
On the undercard, Manchester's lightweight contender Anthony Crolla (28-4-1, 11 KOs) will face former WBC super featherweight champion Gamaliel Diaz (38-11-2, 17 KOs) in a scheduled 12-round bout and 2012 British Olympic super heavyweight gold medalist Anthony Joshua (7-0, 7 KOs) will feature against an opponent to be determined.
