Mikey Garcia vs Juan Manuel Lopez on June 15

WBO featherweight champion Mikey Garcia (31-0) will make the first defence of his title against former two division world champion Juan Manuel Lopez (33-2) on June 15 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

The undefeated Garcia won the world title from tough Mexican Orlando Salido in January. Salido had won the title from Lopez, stopping the Puerto Rican and then repeated the feat in a rematch in March 2012.

Californian Garcia of Mexican orgin, dropped Salido four times before winning a 8th round technical decision after an accidental head-butt from Salido broke Garcia's nose which forced the referee to go to the scorecards as Garcia was unable to continue. Garcia was way ahead on all three judges scorecards.

Fights between Mexicans and Puerto Ricans are always barn burners and this is expected to be no exception.
