Former three division world champion Shane Mosley (47-8-1) defeated Mexican Pablo Cesar Cano (26-3-1) by a narrow 12 round unanimous decision at the Grand Oasis Resort in Cancun, Quintana Roo, Mexico.

The final judges scores were 115-113, 115-113 and 115-113.

In a closely contested fight, the 41-year-old Mosley won his first fight in four years, a 2009 TKO over Antonio Margarito.

After five competitive rounds where Cano seemed to edge, Mosley staggered Cano in the 6th but was unable to put him away. Cano fired back to hurt Mosley in the 9th with some big right hands. However, Mosley immediately came back late in the round to get the better of Cano.

In round 10, Mosley had 23-year-old Cano holding on after landing big shots and dominated the action. A shot by Cano in the 11th knocked out Mosley's mouthpiece, but the veteran controlled the pace until the final bell.
