Klitschko-Povetkin agree terms for October 5
WBA/IBO/IBF/WBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko (60-3) will defend his titles against Alexander Povetkin (26-0) on October 5 at the Olimpiyskiy stadium, in Moscow, Russia.
The negotiations had dragged out for months before finally the two sides agreed to make the fight happen.
The fight will pit two former Olympic gold medalist - Wladimir, the Ukrainian gold medalist, and Povetkin, the Russian gold medalist - against each other.
And the Wladimir said "I'm really pleased the fight has been set. Boxing fans around the world await the meeting of two Olympians. This fight will be the best in the heavyweight division and I'm impressed by the fact it will be held in Moscow, because many Russian and Ukrainian fans have the chance to attend.
Klitschko's manager Bernd Boente said "Despite long and arduous negotiations, both sides had the desire and willingness to reach an agreement. And now we will work together to provide one of the best fights that can be made."
