Former three-weight world champion Miguel Cotto (37-4) will return to the ring with Freddie Roach as his trainer.
Cotto is looking to reverse a two-fight losing streak by hiring Roach to replace Pedro Diaz, who guided the Puerto Rican to just one win in three, his two most recent outings were UD defeats to Floyd Mayweather in May 2012 and then to Austin Trout in December 2012.
The 32-year-old's opponent is likely to be Delvin Rodriguez (28-6-3) in Orlando on October 5. Cotto will train with Roach at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
Cotto's return will see him again work with Top Rank, who will promote the fight, but he will remain a free agent.
