Stevenson to face Bellew on November 30
WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson (22-1) will defend his title against Tony Bellew (20-1-1) on November 30 at the Colisee de Quebec in Canada.
Bellew gets the chance after he claimed a unanimous decision victory over Isaac Chilemba to pick up the WBC Silver light heavyweight title on the Carl Froch-Mikkel Kessler bill in London in May.
But the Liverpudlian will start as a huge underdog when he steps into the ring, judging by the way Stevenson, nicknamed Superman, overwhelmed former IBF champion Tavoris Cloud, until the American gave up in his corner after seven rounds. This was the first defence of the title Stevenson won in spectacular fashion by blasting out Chad Dawson in just 76 seconds in June. The Canadian has 19 KO's in 22 fights.
In the co-feature bout, WBO light heavyweight champion Sergey Kovalev (22-0-1) will make the first defence of the title he won when he stopped Nathan Cleverly in the 4th round in Cardiff in August, against a yet to be determined opponent.
