Terence Crawford turns himself in to police

WBO light welterweight champion Terence Crawford turned himself in to police on Friday in his hometown of Omaha, Nebraska, following an incident  in an auto body shop.

The American is being charged with four misdemeanors: theft of services, criminal mischief, assault in the third degree, and trespassing.

Crawford is accused of repeatedly shoving the shop owner and causing significant damage to the property.

The owner of the business, Michael Nelson alleges that he told Crawford that he couldn't get his 1984 Chevy Monte Carlo until he paid his $1,350 bill for a paint job. Nelson told police that Crawford and three other people removed the vehicle from a hydraulic lift themselves, causing $5,000 worth of damages to the lift in the process, and took the car without paying.

Crawford’s court date is scheduled for May.
