Timothy Bradley announces retirement from boxing
Former two-weight world champion Timothy Bradley has announced his retirement from boxing.
Bradley held the WBC and WBO light welterweight titles before moving up to welterweight and claiming the WBO belt on two occasions.
The 33-year-old made the announcement while commentating on Vasyl Lomachenko's win over Miguel Marriaga on Saturday.
"I had a helluva run. It was a good career," said Bradley. "I'm just not motivated to do this anymore. I've saved my money. I'm good."
Bradley defeated Manny Pacquiao in their first of three fights to win the 147 pound title in one of the most controversial decisions in boxing history. Most observers had Pacquiao winning, but not two of the judges.
The American successfully defended the belt in a war with Ruslan Provodnikov in March 2013, and defeated Juan Manuel Marquez by split decision seven months later. Then Bradley lost a decision and his welterweight title to Pacquiao in their 2014 rematch.
He went on to draw with Diego Chaves, in a fight most thought Bradley won, and score wins over Jessie Vargas and Brandon Rios.
His last fight was his second loss to Pacquiao by decision in April 2016.
Bradley's pro record ends at 33-2-1 (13 KOs).
