Mexico's Oscar Valdez (22-0, 19 KOs) battled to a unanimous decision victory over Miguel Marriaga (25-2, 21 KOs) to retain his WBO featherweight title on Saturday night at StubHub Center in Carson, California.

Valdez won by scores of 119-108, 116-111 and 118-109.

Valdez nailed the Colombian with power shots in the early rounds, but Marriaga took them well and began to fire back.

After he failed to score a KO, Valdez started to box from the outside but the taller Marriaga used his reach advantage to get the better of Valdez.

However, just as Marriaga was building momentum, Valdez dropped him with a left hook in the 10th.

Marriaga got up and survived the next onslaught to fight back with some big shots that hurt Valdez, and the two continued to go toe to toe until the final bell.

Also on the card, WBO super middleweight champion Gilberto Ramirez (35-0, 24KO) won a one-sided unanimous decision over Ukrainian challenger Max Bursak (33-5-1, 15 KOs) to retain his title.

The Mexican captured the WBO belt with a one-sided points win over Germany's Arthur Abraham in April 2016 but has since been out with a hand injury.

Ramirez won rounds by being busier than Bursak, who lacked the punching power and size to trouble Ramirez.

Bursak was deducted a point in rounds 5 and 11, both for holding.

Although he was always in control, Ramirez never looked like scoring the KO and appeared tired in the second half of the fight.

All three judges scored the fight 120-106 in favor of Ramirez.

WBO super bantamweight champion Jessie Magdaleno (25-0, 18 KOs) demolished Brazilian challenger Adeilson Dos Santos (18-3, 14 KOs) by a second round KO.

The American southpaw outboxed Dos Santos in the opening round and dropped Dos Santos with a right hand in the second.

Dos Santos got back up but was soon down again from the follow up punches before the referee stopped the bout at 2:51 of the round.
